The Halal Products Research Institute (HPRI), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) warmly welcomed a delegation from the Saudi Food and Drug Authority on 22 April 2024. The visit, led by His Excellency Dr. Hisham Al-Jadhey, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the General Authority of Food and Drug, Saudi Arabia, intended to explore the advancements of research and development at HPRI in contributing to the halal industry.
During the visit, the delegation comprising 24 members, engaged in discussions on how HPRI is propelling the national halal agenda through rigorous research and education. HPRI's commitment to becoming a regional and international hub for halal research was highlighted, focusing on its contributions to food security and the Halalan Toyyiban assurance across various sectors.
