Regional Training-Workshop on Halal Slaughtering and Certification

     

   

The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) had partnered with Halal Products Research Institute (HPRI), Universiti Putra Malaysia to conduct the Regional Training-Workshop on Halal Slaughtering and Certification on 23-25 August 2022 at The Everly Putrajaya Hotel. The Training-Workshop was conducted to provide support to ASEAN’s current initiatives and to foster greater collaboration among key players of the Halal industry.

The Training-Workshop aims to:

  • Increase the exchange of knowledge and information among key players of the Halal industry and explore potential collaborations for its further development in the ASEAN region; and
  • Enhance the capacities of Halal professionals, practitioners, policymakers, and other key players and stakeholders on Halal slaughtering and certification.

At most 25 representatives from the ASEAN Working Group on Halal Food (AWGHF), Halal researchers, academicians, industry players, and officers from certification and regulatory bodies/ministries from the ASEAN participated in the Training-Workshop.
