HI-LITE 2026 Open Day

SERDANG, 13 May 2026 - The Halal Product Research Institute (IPPH), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) will warm the world of halal innovation by organizing HI-LITE 2026 on 12 May 2026 at Putra Infoport, Serdang, Selangor.

Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), through the Halal Products Research Institute (IPPH), organised HI-LITE 2026 to strengthen awareness, collaboration and innovation within the halal industry ecosystem. The programme gathered postgraduate students, academics, industry representatives and members of the public through exhibitions, forums, seminars and live demonstrations related to halal science and technology. It also showcased IPPH’s expertise, laboratory facilities and research capabilities in halal product analysis and verification.

UPM Vice-Chancellor Dato’ Prof. Ir. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah said the initiative supports the university’s commitment to food security, halal education and interdisciplinary research. He noted that halal assurance is closely linked to quality and safety, while stronger cooperation between universities, industries, government agencies and communities is essential in building a sustainable and competitive halal ecosystem with meaningful impact on society and the nation.

Meanwhile, IPPH Director Prof. Dr. Awis Qurni Sazili described HI-LITE 2026 as an important platform for connecting researchers, industry stakeholders and communities through knowledge sharing and technological innovation. Visitors explored halal laboratory facilities, participated in quizzes and demonstrations, and received free health screenings conducted in collaboration with Hospital Pakar An-Nur. Through the programme, UPM reaffirmed its commitment to advancing halal research and strengthening strategic partnerships locally and internationally.
