We are pleased to inform that the Laboratory of Halal Science Research and Halal Services Laboratory, Halal Products Research Institute, Universiti Putra Malaysia in collaboration with ChlorosLab Sdn Bhd, will be organizing a 3-days workshop on ‘Food DNA Extraction: Method Development and Validation’ on 8-10 Nov 2022. Extraction of good quality DNA from food of various matrices has been challenging due to different degrees of complexity and processing. Hence, it is important to understand the fundamentals principles of DNA extraction so that development and optimization of the method could be strategized. It is also crucial to ensure the reproducibility of the method, which could be achieved through method validation. It is known that good quality DNA is important for the best performance of any nucleic acid-based method such as qPCR that is commonly used for genetically-modified organisms and species determination. Therefore, on behalf of the organizing committee, we would like to invite industries, researchers, and students to join the Workshop on ‘‘Food DNA Extraction: Method Development and Validation’ ’ that will be conducted on 8-10 Nov 2022.
